This week my maths group has been learning Tidy numbers. You can use tidy numbers when you have maths problems like 198+56. Tidy numbers helps when you have big numbers that are hard to put together. tidy numbers can help you depending on the type of problem.
Have you learnt about tidy numbers before?
Today We had three people come to our school to show us a ginormous Skateboard that they had made to promote skateboarding and the New Zealand team in the Olympics. It was way bigger than any of the seniors. I only just had to bend down to fit underneath it. On the bottom there was a really cool pattern. The skateboard was 18 times bigger than a usual skateboard. Have you ever seen a skateboard this big?
Have you done a Tangram before?
This is a photo of my class playing snowball tag. We had some people come to school to play cricket. We played a small game of cricket. Then we played cat we had to pass the ball to someone in our group we were allowed to be as tricky as we wanted. We had 4 groups of five. In my group there was Zoe Ella Milly Carter and me. They are all my friends. The game of cat was fun I got out second If you got out you had to do ten star jumps.
Have you played cricket before?
This is my Onomatopoeia Art. That I made In class first we had to open a google doc. Next we made a onomatopoeia word for every letter of the alphabet. Then we had to pick one and make a sketch of the one that we chose in our art book. After we chose a colour for the background. Then we got some stencils of letters and traced around them my word was pop. After we cut them out. Then we went to the teacher. So she could cut out the middle of the letters. Next we cut out some newspaper in the shape that we wanted. Then we had to glue it down. After I chose a colour of paint and painted it. Then while we wanted for it to dry. We cut out some shapes to go on the sides. Lastly Mrs Hickford took a photo of us holding our picture.
Have you made something like this before ?
